• Was there a banner or some form of Identification for the Group/Section?

• Is the kitchen set up where access by youth can be safely restricted (a clearly defined boundary)?

• Is the kitchen area sheltered and protected against rain and wind?

• Is there designated, safe and sufficient space for dispensing food?

• Are stoves/lanterns/bbq's safely and efficiently located?

• Are all stoves/lanterns/bbq's properly turned off or supervised if on?

• Safe location of boiling water station away from shelter?

• Is the kitchen shelter a safe height/distance from any stoves/lanterns?

• Is all propane/fuel located safely and away from unsupervised access?

• Is all unused propane/fuel located away from the kitchen in a safe restricted area?

• Are all cooking pots/pans cleaned and stored safely if not in use?

• Are all knives and cutlery cleaned and stored safely if not in use?

• Is the menu displayed in a well defined safe area?

• Is a duty roster displayed in a well defined safe area?

• Is a fire extinguisher (or equivalent) present in a safe and well defined area?

• Is a first aid kit present and in a safe and well defined area?

• Emergency plan posted in a clearly defined area?

• Is the camp schedule posted in a clearly defined area?

Food

• Is there a defined and safe eating area?

• Is there a hand washing/sanitizing station?

• Is there a proper cleaning station for plates, mugs and cutlery

• Is there a defined trash can/bag?

• Is it covered or closed to deter animals?

• Are recyclables collected separately?

• Are grey water containers present and clearly identified?

• Is site free of litter?

• Is site free of food droppings?

• Is there a clothesline for drying utensils and/or dish cloths?
